Dear clients and partners,

We would like to inform you that the strike of civil servants working at the Administrative Units in Slovenia is still ongoing. The strike is taking place in most of the Administrative Units. Also today, 27.3.2024, the majority of Administrative Units – 54 out of 58 – were on strike. The Public Administration Union has announced strikes for every Wednesday until their demands are met, demanding higher wages and relief from the volume of work.

During the strike (every Wednesday), employees only provide emergency services: in the field of transport, the issue of a driving licence for urgent travel abroad, urgent treatment abroad or death in the family abroad; in the field of civil registry, the transport of a deceased person abroad, the registration of a birth if a newborn child has to undergo urgent treatment abroad; in the field of residence registration, the recognised procedures for the registration of a matrimonial residence;

in the field of foreigners’ registers; and in the field of civil registry, the issue of a driver’s licence: service of residence permits for new-born children – first permit, service of residence permits for drivers in international traffic; validation of voters’ signatures; and in the field of finance, telephone verification of the fee for a decision in a life-threatening case.

Most administrative units had already been on strike at the end of January, and before that in November.

The above-mentioned constraints on the procedures are taken into account as far as possible and in advance when scheduling visits to the Administrative Units together with our clients, however, in some cases there may be unexpected delays and/or changes to the already agreed dates for visiting the Administrative Units.

We are always at your disposal for more information.
