On Friday, 29 March 2024, banks and savings banks in the euro area will not process interbank payments due to the closure of the TARGET2 system for Good Friday. However, Good Friday is not a public holiday in Slovenia, meaning mandatory payment deadlines are not deferred to the following working day.

The Tax Office of Slovenia would like to remind you to pay on time.

“The deadline for fulfilling obligations due on Friday, 29 March 2024, is not extended to the next working day. Therefore, a taxable person’s liability to the Tax Office on 29 March 2024 is considered paid on time if settled on 28 March 2024.”

Additionally, TARGET2 will be closed on Easter Monday, a public holiday in Slovenia.

Regarding Easter, the Public Payments Administration of the Republic of Slovenia states:

“During the Easter holidays, the Public Payments Administration will not provide payment services for budget users or non-cash payment services for compulsory duties at non-cash payment points of UJPay. However, payment orders with a currency date from and including 2 April 2024 will be accepted during office hours. Inflows from instant payments and Flik, an expedited payment system offered by Slovenian banks, will continue uninterrupted during Easter holidays and non-working days.”
