On 8 August 2025, Borzen, Slovenia’s energy market operator, announced a public call for non-refundable financial incentives for individuals and businesses purchasing electric vehicles. A total of €9.2 million is available to support the transition to cleaner mobility.

Individuals
Legal entities, sole proprietors, and self-employed persons
VAT-registered individuals
Subsidy amounts for new passenger vehicles (up to 8 seats):
Up to €35,000 value: €7,200
€35,000–€45,000 value: €6,500
€45,000–€65,000 value: €4,500
Subsidy amounts for new light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 t):
Up to €45,000 value: €6,500
€45,000–€65,000 value: €4,500
For used passenger and light commercial vehicles (max. 3 years old):
Up to €45,000 value: €3,000
€45,000–€65,000 value: €2,000
Other eligible categories include quadricycles, tricycles, motorcycles, and mopeds, with subsidies from €300 to €1,500. Motor-assisted bicycles are excluded.
Application dates:
Individuals: from 2 September 2025 at 10:00
Businesses: from 7 October 2025 at 10:00
Applications must be submitted electronically via Borzen’s portal. Funding comes from Slovenia’s Climate Change Fund.
