The value of construction works in Slovenia amounted to EUR 1.93bn last year, up 14.6% compared to the year before, the Statistics Office said.
The value of works on civil engineering facilities increased by 32.5% compared to 2013, while the value of construction works on buildings fell by 9% on a yearly basis. Construction companies performed works in total value of EUR 658m on buildings.
The value of works on civil engineering facilities mostly increased on account of traffic infrastructure, which increased by 30% on a yearly basis.
Construction of pipelines, communication networks, and power supply systems also significantly contributed to the upbeat statistics, almost doubling in the value of performed works.
The value of performed works invested by companies jumped by 15.7% year-on-year, mostly on account of the works performed on engineering constructions. Meanwhile, the value of construction works invested by households only went up by 2.4%.
