The past year on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange was marked not only by rising stock prices but also by a 75.2% increase in trading volumes. Total turnover amounted to EUR 686.3m, 27% of which was accounted for by pharma company Krka.

Block deals excluded, the turnover for the year was EUR 460.1m, up 49.9% on 2013. Shares accounted for 88.6% of the trading, followed by bonds with 10.1%.

Krka is followed on the turnover list by car electronics maker Letrika (11.1%), which was sold to Germany’s Mahle this year, and by brewery Pivovarna Laško (8.9%).

The market capitalisation of all the shares on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange stood at EUR 6.21bn this year, some 20% more than in 2013.
