Slovenia was declared the most promising golf destination of 2015 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators at an international fair of golf travel industry in Milan, Italy
This is a great recognition for Slovenia and an important step forward in the country’s efforts to become a global golf destination, the SPIRIT agency for the promotion of enterprise and tourism said in a press release.
Slovenia made a breakthrough in golf tourism two years ago, when the demand for golf services in the country rose significantly. Being promoted under the brand name “I Feel Slovenia”, the country’s golf tourism became known in all leading international golf markets, the agency noted.
At the moment, Slovenian golf courses are mostly visited by Italian, Austrian and German guests, while the recent years saw a jump in the number of visitors from the Scandinavian countries, especially Sweden and Finland.
At the international fair in Italy, which ran from Monday until Thursday, golf courses Bled, Arboretum and agency MM turist were presented.
