Ljubljana, 7 January (STA) – The Slovenian Stock Exchange SBI TOP blue chip index gained 1.43% on Monday to 681.06 points. Energy company Petrol was the biggest gainer of the day, adding 4.06% to EUR 255.

Household appliances maker Gorenje added 3.54% to EUR 4.10. Slovenia’s second-largest bank NKBM ended the day 2.36% higher at EUR 1.30, while insurer Zavarovalnica Triglav was up 2.24% to EUR 18.24.

Drug maker Krka was the most coveted item, accounting for EUR 639,900 of the day’s total turnover, which reached EUR 2.16m. Krka gained 2.06% to EUR 54.99. Telco Telekom Slovenije gained 1.01% to EUR 100.

The only blue chip to lose ground was retailer Mercator, which was down 4.49% to EUR 116.
