Ljubljana, 27 February (STA) – Employers welcomed on Wednesday the labour market reform as a real reform, not just a facelift. The Association of Employers (ZDS) confirmed the reform was agreed among social partners in all key points on Tuesday before it proceeds into the second parliamentary reading on Thursday.

ZDS president Milan Lukić stressed at a press conference that the five-month negotiations brought both good and unacceptable proposals, but that reason prevailed at the end and the final version brought a number of benefits for employers.

He lauded trade unions for being ready for constructive talks and Labour Minister Andrej Vizjak for heading the extremely difficult negotiations successfully and giving much effort to the labour reform even after already getting a pension reform through.

Although employers expected more from the reform, Lukić said the current version of the reform brought modern legislation that allowed more flexibility.
