The volume of retail trade has more than tripled  in Azerbaijan over the last decade, the State  Statistics Committee reports. 

Retail trade volume was up 3.1-times in the  last decade to AZN18.24bn ($14.2bn). As of the  end of the first half of 2013, retail trade reached  AZN9.4bn, according to the State Statistics
Committee, reports Trend.

Of this total, trade in services has been the fastest  growing segment, up just under six times to  AZN5.83bn in 2012, and is on course to exceed  that amount this year with a volume of AZN2.78bn in the first half of the year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s foreign  trade turnover increased by 8.8 times – up to  $33.56bn in 2012. The number of trading partners  increased from 128 to 155 countries.
