Ljubljana, 17 December (STA) – The average monthly net pay amounted to EUR 986.81 in October, which is 1.4% more than in September and up 0.7% year-on-year, the Statistics Office said on Monday. Average gross pay was at EUR 1,515.95, an increase of 1.8% over the month before and 0.4% in year-on-year comparison.

The average net pay in the private sector reached EUR 914.37, up 2.5% compared to September and 1.8% compared to October 2011. The gross pay in the sector was up by 3.1% (1.9% y/y) to EUR 1,397.17.

In the public sector, the average net pay stood at EUR 1,119.30, which is 0.2% less than the month before and 0.1% less than a year ago. The average gross pay in the sector was 0.1% lower in monthly comparison and 2.1% in year-on-year comparison, reaching EUR 1,733.23.

In monthly comparison, the average monthly gross pay increased in all statistics regions in October, most notably in the northern Koroško and western Goriško regions (each by 3.8%).
