In Slovenia, the retail trade in June on a monthly basis strengthened by 2.4 percent, the highest in the EU and the best result in five months.
In June among 27 memeber states of EU retail trade has shrank by 0.3 percent, while in the Euro area gained 0.1 percent, announced the European statistical office Eurostat. Data for the euro zone, surprised analysts because they expected slight decline in retail sales. The highest growth was recorded by Slovenia (2.4 percent), followed by Latvia (2.1 percent) and Luxembourg (1.5 percent). The largest decreases were recorded in Ireland (-2.2 percent) in the UK (-1.7 percent) and Romania (-1.1 percnt).
